REGGAE SONG ABOUT WOMEN, EMPOWERMENT AND TEVET – MALAWI’S NO. 1 SONG FOR OVER 6 WEEKS

To create a better image of the trades and to encourage more young women to enter technical training courses, UNESCO is working with Sangie, an award winning musical artist to break down stereotypes that limit women’s career choices.

Breaking down gender stereotypes regarding career choices is part of the Skills and Technical Education Programme.  We celebrate all women who are entering careers normally thought to be only for men.

Ngwazi Zazikazi – Bold Woman

They say am a woman
Am not supposed to do some of these jobs
Am supposed to be at home
But I can be anything I want,
I can have any career I want,
I can be a soldier, plumber, even a pilot too
There are women electricians and politicians…
So ama stand strong (coz am a Ngwazi)
